Numerous studies have shown that the majority of work-related deaths in Nigeria occur because of the inadequate levels of pre-hospital care and transportation, not because of the impact of the injury itself.
Many of these cases highlighted the need for Nigerian companies to look more closely at the pre-hospital care provision made for their staff.
In our experience, even when these services are being provided by a company, the cost is far above what it could be. Many of these companies are based outside West Africa and therefore have much longer response times than our local service which boasts response times of as little as 30 minutes for our clients in Nigeria and Ghana.

Personal Air Ambulance Cover
Flying Doctors Nigeria provide air ambulance cover for individuals and families. A small annual fee ensures that where ever you are travelling in Nigeria, a state of the art medical facility can be with you in a matter of minutes.
VIP Cover
Flying Doctors Nigeria is a proudly Nigerian company that views the medical management of our top government officials and advisors as a priority. Therefore, we are also launching a VIP cover scheme to ensure that our top politicians/VIP’s can be flown back into an appropriate centre within in minutes, receiving state of the art management from our doctors right from the pick up point.
As soon as a call from one of our VIP’s is made, we immediately begin liaising with both our national and international partners to ensure that our patient is taken to the right centre with the correct specialities and equipment to manage that particular condition. International repatriation will be arranged if necessary. A liaison doctor will also be made available to keep the patients family abreast of developments if required.
Organ Transplant and Medical Supplies
Flying Doctors Nigeria are placed at the forefront of medical services. Organ transplantation is becoming a much more commonly performed procedure in Nigeria, we therefore provides 24 hour assistance every day of the week to transplant co-ordinators within Nigeria and surrounding countries.
We provide a stress free, one telephone number service and can arrange everything a co-ordinator needs to transport organs, tissues, blood samples and surgical teams 24 hours a day. We are committed to the safe, reliable and cost-effective air transportation of your medical cargo.
Flying Doctors Nigeria’s cargo usually includes blood samples, tissues samples and medical equipment but is not limited to these items. With just one call, our medical team will organise the collection and dispatch of the sample by air and road if required.
Repatriation
Flying Doctors Nigeria are confident in both the ability of our Nigerian doctors and the facilities in our Nigerian partner hospitals. However, we are aware that despite the drastic improvements in the standard of healthcare services in Nigeria over the past few years, there are limitations to the service that can be offered. Therefore. depending on the patient’s condition, we can arrange either a private air ambulance or commercial repatriation in conjunction with our air partners.
Many holiday insurance policies have a provision relating to emergency repatriation. Insurance companies require that you adhere strictly to their terms and conditions so it is important that you have read and understand the terms before starting the process of emergency repatriation.
